Characterized Figure Drawing 3
by Joie on Nov.08, 2010, under Classwork, Sketches, Studio
I am chugging out so much work that I’m having issues posting it all. So here’s a huge dump of more characterized figure drawings and they are most likely out of order. The worst part is that I have at least twice this much that I haven’t even photographed yet.

It’s interesting to keep pushing this style of drawing. I’m definitely working outside of my box, and I think my characterization is getting marginally better with practice. More tomorrow.

I follow your blog with admiration
and awe.
What is “character figure drawing”?
Did you draw all these from live models?

Hi Judi,
Yes these are done from live models. The point of the exercise is to look at the model, and pull the “story” that the pose is telling out into a concentration for a drawing. It’s basically exaggeration to further an idea. I’m glad you like my art! Thanks so much!
